Blood Pressure is denoted by two values and also referred as the sound made by heart while pumping Blood:
- Systolic Sound (lub), which occurs when the hearts contracts and pushed out the blood into various parts of the body. This denotes the higher range of pressure called systolic blood pressure (SBP).
- The sound (dup) is the relaxation period of the heart when the blood enters the heart chambers. This is the Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) and denotes the lower blood pressure.
Hypertension is diagnosed and monitored with repeated blood pressure measurements, since for diagnostic purpose the inconsistency of blood pressure should be measured on different occasion over a period of few months in some individuals because of the presence of some co-morbidity.
